Strategy Development

Minimize
Perception is strong and sight weak. In strategy it is important to see distant things as if they were close, and to take a distanced view of close things.
-Miyamoto Musashi

Strategic development is often a weak area for Entrepreneurs, many of whom have never had to develop corporate strategies in their previous positions.  Often strategy is mistaken for planning or marketing and some of the key elements are missed.

Key Consulting will work with the Entrepreneur and the client team to facilitate the development of the strategy leveraging the work done in the first two stages of the process, and working to identify the relevant strengths and weaknesses of the organization and align them against the market opportunities identified in last stage.  Done in the form of an open and participative brainstorming session, the Key Consulting facilitator will work to engage the client team in the discussion to unearth their own strengths, weaknesses, motivations, and fears as the first step in the change management process that is often required at the outcome of the growth process.

In addition to traditional SWOT models, Key Consulting makes use of several other tools and principles designed to drive innovation and creativity in the strategic development process.  Methods and tools from Blue Ocean Strategy, Strategy Maps, The Fifth Discipline, Six Thinking Hats among others, and real world business leaders like GE and Motorola are all used as appropriate to ensure that the strategy maximizes the potential for goal achievement and employee buy-in upon implementation.
